1992 Mazda MPV

BC Vehicle -No Rust!

Located North Bay Ontario $500 SOLD

Our 1992 Mazda MPV covered in road salt after a 4487 km trip from Victoria BC in the winter!

rear wheel drive, excellent motor and transmission

The cars from Vancouver Island BC are located in one of the few areas of Canada where salt is not used on winter roads so there is no rust. In Ontario this car would have rusted out years ago! It is a daily driver. A picture and a story about this car appears in the book we wrote about our road trip called the Canadian Winter Driver's Handbook  You never know how long a used car is going to last but I had checked her over and prepared her for the trip of 4487 km and she made it without any problems. Also the car comes with the original hand book and repair receipts since new which is useful so that you know what has been done.

We are asking $500 for the car. If you wish to make an offer or trade (truck, snow machine, boats etc) we will of course be happy to consider it. .   Note that this is not a show car it was a daily driver in good but not perfect condition that has been reasonably well maintained. With a bit of luck and reasonable care you probably will get a lot more use from her. But remember with all used vehicles you take a bit of a risk and the ideal owner is probably somebody that can do some of the routine maintenance themselves.

A warning. Some people who purchase low priced cars are looking for an exceptional deal where they can pay little or nothing and get a vehicle worth thousands of dollars in great shape and then possibly resell it at a profit. This vehicle is NOT such a deal. Don't even think about it.

Here is why. First of all the vehicle is high mileage -nearly all highway miles but nevertheless high mileage. Secondly there are repairs that are absolutely required before the vehicle could be certified for the road. The windshield is cracked, the exhaust system needs to be replaced and there needs to be some brake work done. So you are looking at least $500 in repairs likely a bit more. Also we removed the center seat so it will no longer seat 7 (like it ever did!)  So what makes it worth $500 then?  The engine and transmission work well, there are lots of useful parts on it and how many vehicles do you know that have a book written about them?  Since we are now located in Ontario we came to the conclusion that for us we do not want to put the money into the vehicle to have it certified. I think it's best use is for parts but if you are keen and have the mechanical skills it could be put back on the road. Until the insurance ran out recently it was a daily driver that offered dependable service. This is one of those vehicles that is too good to scrap but requires a good amount of work before it can be certified.

On the Ferry from Victoria - carries lots of stuff for a mini van

The MPV is registered in BC. It is located in North Bay Ontario. If you are interested please send me an email and we can discuss. Ron.  I will offer the minivan for sale for a while and if there are no takers it will be scrapped. I would prefer to see it go to a new owner who can get some more good use out of it but if not its the scrap yard for this hard working dependable MPV. Again will consider boat, snow machine or vehicle trades. Thanks for looking! Note vehicle is drivable but you need plates and insurance. Sorry MPV is now SOLD!
