At NorthTreasure.com we enjoy bringing you items which are just a little bit unusual and difficult to find and this fits the bill!
This is an interesting medical kit quality built in the USA by Propper. It appears to be complete and my guess is that the two metal cylindrical holders on the upper right are likely for replacement bulbs - I may be wrong on that but that is my best guess. The knurled metal battery holder on the bottom is for a rechargeable battery and the cap on the left unscrews to reveal prongs which you plug into any standard 110V socket. I have had this in my collection for several years having obtained if from a Doctor's estate in Victoria British Columbia in the 1980s's A few years back I did recharge the battery and the device did work but when I plugged it in recently the light would not come on. I suspect the rechargeable battery has had the biscuit but it also could be the bulbs- my guess is that its likely the battery.
Propper continues to make this kit in an upgraded model and you can review their website catalogue here. Here is a source of parts. I notice the newer kits are quite expensive and selling for between $600 and $900 plus tax and shipping.
Note that the zipper on the case is worn and requires repair -if you check out the right lower side you can see it hanging down. I suppose one could put an elastic around it to keep the case shut.
This kit would make an excellent addition to your medical collection, or could be used as a prop, parts or you could contact the makers and see if you could get it back into full operation again. It may be just a replacement battery or bulb. It is priced quite reasonably and very significantly less than a new kit. Shipping and handling is $15US Kit as shown is $60US . SOLD to David B.
